Ric Herbert Biography
Ric Herbert is the kind of performer you know and love, long before you've even met him.Chances are, you've heard his voice, even if you're yet to put a face to it.
Besides being a highly sought after voice over artist and session singer, Ric's professional performance career has seen him front various original bands and covers bands from "IOU" (a hi-octane OZ Rock covers band) and "In the Mood" ( a slick corporate functions band) to the current party band "Get RicH".
As the 'voice of a nation', Ric Herbert has enjoyed the special honour of performing "Share the Spirit" live at the opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games anthem "Up there with the Heroes".
With a voice for radio, and the god given 'front' for facing the music in performance, Ric took a burgeoning collection of his own intimate material out on Sydney's Acoustic Circuit in 2005. His classic writing style, engaging performance ability, and impromptu banter made him a hit with live audiences. The sheer energy and surprise segues in his very live performances, mean his audiences are invariably treated to a 'magic carpet ride', never knowing exactly where they'll land.
Ric's growing reputation landed him a long running weekly residency on Wednesday nights from 8pm at the Monkey Bar – Balmain, playing a tasteful mix of covers and his own material. Joined by an ever evolving parade of talented guests, "Get RicH" is the seamless combination of his artistic skill, and professional ability to 'deliver' night after night.
